March 1, 2010 Walk In Faith

I have just begun reading the book What Happens When Women Walk In Faith. The cover of the book has a pair of shoes on it which is why I photographed my shoes.

It was a major decision to decide which pair of my limited number of shoes to photograph. One thing I have discovered in this little exercise is that all my shoes are frumpy. I need to expand my shoes wardrobe but I have a hard time finding comfortable shoes - don't ask my why - odd feet or something.

Anyway back to the book. I've read chapters 1 & 2. I told you I just started. Being able to give up control and to totally trust is so appealing to me - appealing yet somehow just beyond my reach when I try to hold on to the things that are holding me back. Oh to be able to totally walk in faith - ahhh.

Sometimes my hopes and dreams collide with reality. I need to live into the blessing of today.

February 28, 2010 F Is For Fabulous Fruit

I love fruit. This was from the reception after the Consecration Service at church today. There were grapes, pineapple, strawberries, kiwi, honeydew and cantaloupe, Yum!!

February 27, 2010 A Dream Come True

Tomorrow is the Consecration Service for the new church building. This is the new S.E.E.D. Hall. The chairs are set and the service is planned. The building includes a multi-purpose room/gym, Sunday School rooms and a kitchen.

February 26, 2010 Blackberries

Tonight I had planned to make a quick trip to WalMart to return a dvd to Red Box and come right back home. But as I was leaving Charlsley gave me her shopping list for WalMart. But I hadn't planned to do any shopping. So anyway I picked up her strawberries, kiwi, pretzels & icing (what list!) and I also got some blackberries.

I love blackberries. I took a few pics of them. By the time I got a chance to look at the pics I wasn't particularly happy with any of them but it was too late to take anymore because I had eaten the prop. HAHA

February 19, 2010 Earrings!!

OK so a couple weeks ago I decided that I was not going to get my ears pierced again after probably 10+ years, but instead I was going to wear clip earrings. It has been and adventure finding clip earrings, they're few and far between. And then the next obstacle is, are the comfortable. Some of them pinch. I thought ok I'm not going to be able to wear clip either. I'm learning how to loosen the tension on them some.

These are the earrings I wore during the weekend. Yes I did wear those big butterfly ones but not for very long and for a specific purpose. HAHA

This necklace was given to me on Thursday evening. It was made by a lovely person who gave it to another lovely person who has handed it down to me.

I noticed this tree when I parked on the 3rd level of the parking deck this morning. I quickly snapped a picture before running to my destination - my office. What caught my attention was the tree branching off in all different directions, I immediately thought of how busy life gets and it seems we're constantly running in multiple directions.

I went out for a little walk today with camera in hand. This is a rather unusual winter. There is a chance for more snow on Tuesday. It has been a bright sunny day with lots of melting going on.

February 6, 2010 Snow Days and Comfort Food

Yep it's snowing again today. What is it about snow days and comfort foods. Perhaps it's the fact that you're snowed in at home and you have time to make yummy foods. Perhaps it's when you're out doing the panic shopping before the snow forecast, you gravitate to those things because that's just what you're supposed to do when it snows. You see when you live here where we usually don't get a whole lot of snow there is a run on the grocery stores when snow is in the forecast. Or perhaps it just taste good.

I would like to say I lovingly made these from scratch for my family. Well I did make them if you call opening the can and putting them on the baking stone, and putting them in the oven. And then once they were done, opening the little plastic bag of icing and adding that to the top. Then yes I did make them.

It is snowing again today. We go many winters without any snow but this year we are getting plenty. I wanted to take some pics in the bay window with the benefit of natural light. We had a good time, some posed shots like this one and some quite candid, otherwise known as silly.

January 28, 2010 Snow Is In The Forecast

What do you do when snow is in the forecast. Why you go to the grocery store of course. They are forecasting big snow for the weekend. I didn't want to be in the store with the rest of the town tomorrow so I went tonight. After handbell practice I headed to the store for staples - you know diet coke and stuff.

I worked in a different office today. This is a lovely old building which houses one of our offices.

So this is the control panel on the driver's side of the van. The driver's window works when it wants to and other times it just doesn't. So far in 2010 it has worked every single time I have tried. And I have to lower it everytime I go into the parking deck at work. It's always a risk lowering it in case it gets stuck but it never has. Well there have been a few times where you have to push the button while you're closing the door to get it to work. But usually if it's not going to work then it won't go down.

We really have looked into getting it fixed. They would have to take the door panel off to see if it is the motor or the switch so we haven't decided to do that yet.

But hey, it's paid for!

January 25, 2010 Clip-Ons

I haven't worn earrings in probably 20 years. I have been contemplating getting my ears pierced again after letting them close many years ago. Today I had an hour to wander the mall between appointments. I walked by the earring place, paused briefly, then decided no.

So instead I went into the Macy's and looked at clip-on earrings. I think I have purchased one pair of clip-on earrings in my life. I bought 2 inexpensive pair.

When I got home CG wanted some clip-ons. Since they were out of school today we went back to the mall. We found some teenagery clip-ons at Clarie's. I was surprised.

Anyway I'm throwing myself into clip-ons - well as much as one can throw themselves into clip-ons. I've been googling how to convert pierced earrings into clip-ons.

Ah - a new adventure.

January 24, 2010 Save The Dogwood

This tree is part of our new little grove of trees in the front side yard of the house. This particular little tree is a beautiful pink dogwood that was moved from the front of the church. It was put in one spot and then had to be moved again. We're hoping it hasn't suffered from being uprooted twice.

Many many many Easter pictures have been taken in front of this tree in previous years. I hope this spring the flowers will be as beautiful as ever. .
