January 23, 2010 Big House In The Little Woods

With the new construction at church, the site plan called for these trees that are now between the new building and the parsonage. It looks like our own little forest. Well ok maybe it really doesn't qualify as a forest but it sure has changed the look of the front and side yard.

When I was taking this picture I thought of Laura Ingalls Wilder's book Little House In The Big Woods, hence the title.

January 22, 2010 Prayer Shawl

This lovely prayer shawl was given to me by the Prayer Shawl Ministry group at church last year. I love it! I love the colors and I love the love that when into making it and the blessings that were said over it by people that at the time didn't even know who it was going to. The Prayer Shawl Ministry group and made shawls that have gone all across the globe and others that have stayed within our own community.

January 21, 2010 Rainy Days

We've had alot of rainy days lately. Since November it seems we have had more rain than normal. We even had some snow in December. More rain is in the forecast for this weekend.

A cold rainy day just makes you want to wrap up in a blanket and watch a good movie. Oh yeah that is what I did today.

January 20, 2010 Growing older, wiser and TALLER!

I took Daniel in for a checkup today. He has grown 6 1/2 inches in 13 months. No wonder it seemed like every time I blinked last year he was needing new jeans.

January 19, 2010 A Year Later

One year ago today I received the phone call that you never want to hear. But now a year later 2 of the most precious words when said together are - cancer free. I can choose to either dwell on the events of the past or look forward to the future with hope and anticipation. I'm chosing the future by the Grace of God.

When I was trying to decide what to title this picture, my first thought was 1 year ago but that seemed to me to be looking back and that's not what I want. A Year Later to me sounds much better. We're moving on!

The bear's name is Cocoa. Some of my peeps from work sent Cocoa to me during radiation.

January 18, 2010 Chores

If I were to write the story of my life, I think every other page would be about laundry. A family of 5 creates alot of laundry.

Tonight as I was taking this picture Daniel walked in and asked, "Mom, are you really taking a picture of laundry?" When I answered yes he came over and gave me a hug as if to say, "You poor woman you really have a boring life."

January 17, 2010 I'm Scrubbing My Floor

I'm scrubbing my kitchen floor. Oh no wait! Scooba is scrubbing the floor and I'm sitting in the chair with my feet propped up. Oh and the dishwasher is washing the dishes and the dryer is drying the clothes.
